It is truly the little things in life that bring me the most joy.
Today N and I spent a lovely day off of work together. We went to the store to do our Thanksgiving grocery shopping. He sat in the cart and was in charge of the shopping list, and he took it very seriously. He clutched it in his tiny little hand, never losing track of it for an instant. Each time we passed someone on our journey through the store he would hold it up in presentation to each of them with an "uuuhhh!" to get their attention. He showed every single person we passed that shopping list. Such a random thing but so sweet and heartwarming to me.
N is in love with his doggie sister. He is working hard on petting her nicely without getting too excited and flailing uncontrollably. She is starting to warm up more to him...we cannot blame her for being wary of something that showed up in HER house with a 2 pound weight advantage from birth! He loves to turn his head to the side and press his cheek against her back and give her wet kisses that leave her fur damp. She's been the recipient of his mealtime rejects propelled to the kitchen floor from his highchair for months now. She generally stands post under his highchair at mealtimes, jutting out to snatch up a piece of food and then running back to safety, often narrowly missing being knocked out by a sippy cup. But just recently he's discovered that hand feeding her is a fun game. He loves to throw her puffs and has also discovered that if he is still she will come right up and eat them out of his hand. When she does this he smiles and laughs and squeals with delight clapping his hands.
Warms my heart.
I love the little things in life.
